Getting Started with Push Notifications

What is a Push Notification?

A push notification is an alert that pops up on your mobile device, similar to an SMS. Push notifications are a great way to increase customer engagement as it’s a direct path of communication with your customers.

How do Push Notifications Work?

With your Napps mobile app, you can send push notifications in real time at any time. The user simply has to opt-in to push notifications and they will begin to receive alerts even when they are not in the app. You can find more information on how to customize your push opt-in message on Napps's documentation!

When a user taps on a push, they will be taken directly to your app’s home page or a specific page in your app. Deep links allow for a variety of push notification use cases such as flash sales, new collection announcements, and abandoned cart recovery. Push notifications can be sent across all devices including iOS and Android.

Push Notification Types

Product Push: This type of notification is used to highlight a specific product. It includes a thumbnail of the product and when clicked, it redirects the customer to the product page. This is a great way to increase conversions.

Collection Push: This type of notification is used to promote a new collection launch or sale. It redirects the customer to the collection listing when clicked.

Text Push: This type of notification is simple and effective. It includes an optional header and a main body message. A best practice is to highlight the value of the push notification at the top of the message and keep the message under 175 characters for easy comprehension.

Image Push: This type of notification includes a custom image. A best practice is to use lifestyle images with faces, as they are more eye-catching than standalone products.
