TL;DR

Farma2Go, a Spanish health and personal-care marketplace on Shopify Plus, replaced a limited webapp with a fully native NAPPS app in 15 days, timed to its replatform onto Shopify Plus. Daily downloads rose 3.5x, active users hit an all-time high (+30%), and the app now drives more than 25% of online sales at roughly 4x the website's conversion rate. App users spend 38% more per order and 77% more per customer than storefront customers.

Brand Context

Farma2Go is one of Spain's fastest-growing health and personal-care marketplaces, a go-to parapharmacy with a wide catalog and a loyal customer base, running on Shopify Plus. Health and wellness is a naturally high-frequency category: customers reorder vitamins, supplements, skincare, and baby essentials month after month. That repeat-purchase behavior makes it an ideal fit for a native mobile app.

Francisco Canadas

“With NAPPS, we've turned the app into a strategic sales channel, consolidated at the same level as the website. Today the app drives conversion and loyalty: a conversion rate 4x higher than the website, and more than 25% of our online sales. Exclusive promotions and push notifications let us reach customers directly, without intermediaries. A decision that has given us confidence, scalability, and immediate ROI.”

The Problem

Farma2Go was replatforming onto Shopify Plus, and the webapp it had been running couldn't carry the mobile experience its customers expected.

The app Farma2Go inherited was a webapp, a website wrapped in a shell. It lacked the depth, speed, and confidence of a true native experience, so customers bounced back to the website instead of staying in the app. In a category built on habit and repeat purchase, that's a leak: every re-engagement then depends on the customer remembering to return, or on an email that may never leave the promotions folder.

The move to Shopify Plus forced the decision. Farma2Go needed a partner who could migrate off the previous provider in under a month, before the new Shopify site went live. And switching raised the obvious objection: *changing app providers means starting the install base over from zero.* Years of downloads and hard-won push-notification opt-ins were on the line. Losing them meant re-acquiring an audience they had already paid to build.

So the brief had three hard constraints: migrate in weeks, not months; keep the install base and the opted-in audience; and ship an app customers would actually stay in.

The Solution

NAPPS rebuilt Farma2Go's mobile experience as a fully native app and migrated the existing install base intact, in 15 days.

Farma2Go chose NAPPS for the technology and the closeness of the support. What shipped:

1. A 100% native app (SwiftUI + Jetpack Compose): fast, consistent, and built to keep customers inside the app rather than bouncing them to mobile web.

2. A migration that kept the customer relationship: the install base and push consent carried across from the previous provider. Push tokens don't transfer between providers; they re-register only when a customer opens the new app. So Farma2Go rebuilt its addressable push audience deliberately (see the plays below) rather than losing it.

3. Shoppable Videos: Farma2Go merchandises products with user-generated video, and can negotiate that placement with partner brands. It's TikTok-style discovery built into the store.

4. Smart App Banner: a prompt on the mobile site that nudges web visitors to install the app, turning browsers into app users.

Implementation reality: the 15-day deadline was non-negotiable, because the app had to be live before the new Shopify Plus site launched. NAPPS worked directly with Farma2Go's ecommerce team to time the cutover to the replatform. The one real wrinkle: because push tokens re-register only on first open of the new app, the addressable push audience effectively resets at launch. Farma2Go planned for it, and the newsletter-driven, app-only launch campaign below rebuilt that audience in days.

Francisco Canadas

“We were moving to Shopify Plus and couldn't afford to lose the audience we had spent years building. NAPPS took us from an old webapp to a fully native app in fifteen days, in time for the launch. What customers opened on day one finally felt like Farma2Go, not a website inside a frame.”

The Strategy / The Plays

Migrate without losing the audience, then use native to convert browsers and bring buyers back.

  1. Rebuild the push audience with an app-only launch offer. Switching app providers has a hidden cost: push tokens don't transfer, so on launch day your addressable push audience resets to zero and only rebuilds as customers open the new app. Waiting for that to happen organically is slow. Farma2Go didn't wait. It announced an *app-only* discount through the one channel migration doesn't touch, its newsletter. Email reached the whole base; the app-only offer gave them a reason to open the new app; opening it re-registered the push token. One campaign rebuilt the addressable push audience and drove revenue at the same time. The play for any brand migrating providers: reward the first open with an app-exclusive offer announced through email or SMS, and you re-attribute your push base in days instead of months.
  2. Smart App Banner as the top of the install funnel. Farma2Go already had mobile-web traffic; the banner turns that existing traffic into installs at no added acquisition cost, and daily downloads rose 3.5x. The play: treat your mobile site as the entry point to your app, not a competing channel.
  3. Push plus app-exclusive promotions as the repeat-purchase engine. In pharmacy, a push about a restocked supplement or an app-only price on a product the customer already buys is genuinely useful, not noise. Farma2Go reaches opted-in customers directly, with no inbox competition and no intermediaries, and rewards them with exclusive promotions that make the app the first place they open on the next cycle. This is what compounds into +77% LTV and a 48% repeat rate. The play: use push and app-only pricing to turn high-frequency intent into a habit loop.

The Results

A fast migration turned into a top sales channel: the app now drives more than 25% of online sales at roughly 4x the website's conversion rate.

On the download question: Farma2Go didn't restart its audience when it switched. The install base carried across, the app-only launch campaign pulled customers back in to re-register their push tokens (+30% active users, an all-time high), and the Smart App Banner kept converting mobile-web traffic into new installs (3.5x daily downloads). On cannibalization: the app didn't replace the website; it joined it as a channel of equal standing. More than 25% of online sales now run through the app, at conversion rates the website can't match, without pulling budget from anywhere else.

Conclusion

Farma2Go is the case for high-frequency categories (pharmacy, health, personal care) and for any brand stuck on a webapp that's quietly leaking engagement. A native migration doesn't have to be a six-month project or a reset of everything you've built: NAPPS moved Farma2Go off its previous provider in 15 days, kept the install base, rebuilt the subscriber base, and turned the app into a channel that now drives more than a quarter of online sales at 4x the website's conversion rate. For a brand replatforming or rethinking its app, the question isn't whether to have one; it's whether yours is native enough to keep customers in it.

The next phase is already in progress: NAPPS and Farma2Go are bringing the brand's loyalty strategy, driven by store credit, into the app, so repeat purchases earn rewards that live where the highest-value customers already shop.

Francisco Canadas

“The app became a serious channel very quickly. It now carries more than a quarter of our online sales and converts several times better than the website. In a category where customers reorder every month, having a direct line to them, one we don't pay for again each time, changes the economics of the whole business.”
