Tapcart vs Shopney: pricing, features, and which fits your Shopify store

Tapcart vs Shopney: pricing, features, and which fits your Shopify store

In our assessment, Shopney deserves the first look when a lower subscription is your main constraint, and Tapcart when you need built-in experimentation and developer tools and have the budget and team to use them. Both turn a Shopify store into a branded iOS and Android app, so the decision rests on your campaigns, integrations, and control needs.

We are NAPPS, a native mobile app builder for Shopify and Shopify Plus brands, and a competitor to both. This comparison draws on the vendors' published documentation and Shopify App Store listings, rather than a hands-on benchmark. We explain where NAPPS fits later in the article. Prices and plan details were checked on October 21, 2026. If you are still building a shortlist, our guide to the best mobile app builders for Shopify compares a wider set of providers.

Tapcart vs Shopney pricing depends on the features you need

Shopney has the lower entry price. Its Silver plan includes unlimited push notifications, back-in-stock notifications, in-app chat, and product and collection page theme options. Gold adds abandoned-cart notifications and review, search, and filter integrations. Platinum adds segmented and AI push notifications, loyalty and subscription integrations, and Klaviyo. Shopney pricing

That changes the comparison for a merchant who already uses a loyalty or subscription platform. The relevant Shopney starting point may be Platinum at $599 a month. Confirm that your specific integration is covered before choosing a tier.

Tapcart Growth lists unlimited blocks, integrations, push notifications, and custom app screens. Scale adds A/B testing, user segmentation, advanced analytics, and heatmaps. Enterprise+ adds developer tooling and dedicated account management. Its AI package is a separate $250 monthly add-on. Tapcart pricing

Compare a quote for the same requirements on both platforms. Add the cost of any connected services, development work, and the time your team will spend operating the app.

Which editor covers your design brief

Shopney's editor lets merchants arrange content and change layouts and colors without writing code. Its theme options give you different ways to present products. That makes it worth testing if your planned app follows a familiar shopping flow and your marketing team will handle updates. Shopney's design features

Tapcart's App Studio editor covers the standard screens from Growth. For components beyond the editor, Tapcart lists its developer tools, Agent MCP, and CLI on Enterprise+, which starts at $2,850 a month. Budget for that tier, plus the development work, if your brief needs custom components. Tapcart's design and developer features, Tapcart pricing

In either demo, ask the provider to recreate a real screen from your brief. Use a product with variants, a collection with filters, and a promotion your team runs regularly. Then ask your marketer to make a change. That exercise will tell you more about day-to-day ownership than a gallery of finished apps. Our checklist on how to evaluate a Shopify mobile app platform lists more questions for the demo.

Which push campaigns each plan supports

Both platforms advertise unlimited push notifications. The distinction to investigate is which triggers, audiences, and workflows your subscription supports.

For Shopney, the published tiers put abandoned-cart notifications on Gold and segmented and AI push notifications on Platinum. Shopney pricing

Tapcart lists user segmentation on Scale and sells its AI push package separately. Its pricing FAQ also describes scheduled and automated notifications. Ask the team to demonstrate the particular campaign you intend to run and confirm the total subscription. Tapcart pricing

For example, can you send an early-access notification to customers who bought a previous collection, exclude recent purchasers, and open the relevant product inside the app? Check how your team builds that audience and measures the result. A large sending allowance alone does not answer those questions.

Integrations can change the decision

Start with the services your store already depends on. A reviews integration, subscription portal, or loyalty balance needs to work in the app where customers expect it.

Klaviyo shows why it pays to read individual integration pages. Shopney lists it on Platinum. Tapcart's dedicated Klaviyo page labels the integration Enterprise Only, while its general pricing page advertises unlimited integrations on Growth. Those descriptions leave room for uncertainty, so get written confirmation of the plan and functionality offered in your quote. Shopney pricing, Tapcart's Klaviyo integration

Give each provider the same short list of required customer actions:

  • If you sell subscriptions, ask to see a customer manage a recurring order.
  • If loyalty drives repeat purchases, test earning and redeeming rewards.
  • For marketing integrations, check which events reach your CRM and how customers are identified across channels.

Who does the work after launch

Shopney advertises live chat and video support across its plans, with a dedicated success manager on Enterprise. Tapcart lists 24/7 support on Growth and dedicated account management and developer support on Enterprise+. Shopney pricing, Tapcart pricing

Ask who prepares store submissions, investigates an integration problem, and updates the app when your requirements change. Agree on the launch responsibilities before you commit.

If you already have an app, include migration in the conversation. Ask how the provider will handle the existing listing, customer access, deep links, and notification subscribers. Have them review your current setup before relying on a migration promise.

Tapcart vs Shopney: which should you choose?

Choose Shopney if its editor and integrations cover your requirements and its lower-priced tiers include the campaigns you plan to run. It is a sensible candidate for a merchant who wants to launch a conventional shopping app and manage it through a visual editor (our assessment).

Choose Tapcart if your team has a specific use for its experimentation or developer capabilities and can justify the required subscription. Ask the team that will operate the app to evaluate those tools. A/B testing has value when someone will design experiments, review results, and act on them.

If both meet your requirements, use the trial to build the same customer journey on each platform. Compare the finished flow, the effort it took, and the complete quote.

Where NAPPS fits

Consider NAPPS alongside Tapcart and Shopney if you want to build and test your app before starting a paid launch plan. Building and testing are free until you publish. Business starts at $299 a month and includes unlimited design blocks, push notifications and automations, and app analytics. Scale costs $499 a month. Enterprise costs $999 and adds Analytics Pro, a deeper analytics tier. NAPPS takes no share of what your app sells. NAPPS pricing

Custom components do not require our top plan. NAPPS Expresso lets your team or agency build its own components in React, and they render natively in SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose inside the app. Expresso is included on every plan at no extra cost, so Business with Expresso stays at $299 a month. Tapcart lists its developer tools on Enterprise+, from $2,850 a month. NAPPS pricing

Our Klaviyo integration is available on every plan, which makes NAPPS worth evaluating if Klaviyo is essential to your app marketing. Check the exact events and workflows you need during your evaluation. Our guide to Klaviyo mobile app marketing for Shopify shows what the integration covers.

Every plan includes app-only products and discounts, plus automated abandoned-cart and back-in-stock notifications. Shoppable videos start on Scale. If you are moving from another provider, we give you NAPPS free for the months remaining on your current contract. You start paying NAPPS only when that contract ends. NAPPS pricing

If Tapcart is the platform you are weighing most seriously, our NAPPS vs Tapcart comparison goes deeper on architecture, cost, and migration.

Judge NAPPS the same way you judge the other two: give us the brief you gave Tapcart and Shopney, then compare the finished screens and the full quote.
